Spring 4 on 4

BVHS has partnered with Morgan Hockey Development to offer a Spring 4 on 4 Hockey League. The 4 on 4 Hockey League provides players with an opportunity to stay on their skates during the Spring months April - June. By playing 4 on 4 Hockey, players are given the opportunity to work on their skating and puck-handling abilities in an atmosphere that allows for individual growth. With fewer players on the ice, players are given more puck touches which ultimately increases their stick-handling and puck-control skills. The end-to-end transitions allow players the opportunity to increase their overall skating abilities.
This league provides players with the opportunity to play with kids of all levels and abilities in an inviting and fun environment. Players can request to play with up to four friends. The BV 4 on 4 Hockey League allows players the opportunity to play other sports, and by doing such, we are following the Canadian Sport for Life's Long-Term Athlete Development Model. Format

Each ice session will consist of 60 minutes of fast-paced 4 on 4 Hockey.  We will have a minimum of one coach on each bench to help teach the kids as well as one official on ice to facilitate the gameplay.
  • U7 Age Group (2021 and 2020 Birth Years) - Teams will consist of 12 Skaters. Games are played half ice 4 on 4 plus a goalie.  The skaters take turns each shift playing goalie.
  • U9 Age Group (2019 and 2018 Birth Years) - Teams will consist of 11 Skaters and 1 Goalie.  Games are played half ice 4 on 4 plus a goalie.
  • U11 Age Group (2017 and 2016 Birth Years) - Teams will consist of 11 Skaters and 1 Goalie.  Games are played on full ice.
  • U13 Age Group - (2015 and 2014 Birth Years) - Teams will consist of 11 Skaters and 1 Goalie.  Games are played on full ice.
  • U15 Age Group - (2013 and 2012 Birth Years) - Teams will consist of 11 Skaters and 1 Goalie. Games are played on full ice.
  • U18 Age Group - (2011, 2010 and 2009 Birth Years) - Teams will consist of 11 Skaters and 1 Goalie. Games are played on full ice.
Please note this program consists of players with a variety of skill sets and we will split the teams evenly and do our best to ensure players play against other players with similar skill sets.
We will accommodate up to three requests that must be reciprocated on the registration form.
Please note that this program is not a learn-to-skate program.

Location

The Spring 4 on 4 Hockey League will take place at the Trico Leisure Centre located at 11150 Bonaventure Drive SE.

Dates

The Spring 4 on 4 runs from March 29 - June 14, 2026.

Please note there are no ice times on April 5 and May 17, 2026.

Equipment

Players need to wear CSA Approved Hockey Equipment.

Instructor Bios

The Spring 4 on 4 Pond Hockey League will be instructed by experienced instructors who have the knowledge, passion and abilities to effectively and efficiently teach your son or daughter.

Registration Information

Cost: Players - $399 + TeamLinkt Service Fees and Goalies - $199 + TeamLinkt Service Fees

The registration fees include:

  • Spring Hockey Sublimated Game Jersey
  • 10 - 4 on 4 Games

Please register for the Age Group that you will be playing in for the 2026 - 2027 Hockey Season.

Spring 4 on 4 Tenative Schedules

U7 Age Group

U7 Age Group (2021 and 2020 Birth Years)

U7 Age Group will play from 11:00pm to 12:00pm each Sunday.

U9 Age Group

U9 Age Group (2019 and 2018 Birth Years)

U9 Age Group games will take place between 12:15 - 2:30pm each Sunday. Div 1 players are encourage to register for U11.

U11 Age Group

U11 Age Group (2017 and 2016 Birth Years)

U11 Age Group games will take place between 2:45pm - 6:30pm each Sunday. AA and Div 1 players are encourage to register for U13.

U13 Age Group

U13 Age Group (2015 and 2014 Birth Years)

U13 Age Group games will take place between 11:15am - 4:00pm each Sunday. AA and Div 1 players are encouraged to register for U15.

U15 Age Group

U15 Age Group (2013 and 2012 Birth Years)

U15 Age Group games will take place between 6:30pm - 8:45pm each Sunday. AA and Div 1 players are encouraged to register for U18.

U18 Age Group

U18 Age Group (2011, 2010 and 2009 Birth Years)

U18 Age Group games will take place between 6:45-9:00pm each Sunday.
