Jr Flames Spring Program - 3 and 4 Year Old's
The Jr Flames Learn To Play Program is designed for kids aged 3 and 4. This program provides an outlet for beginner players to gain insight into the game of hockey. BVHS coaches will teach these young players the FUNdamentals of the game through station-based activities and small-area games. During each ice session our instructors will focus on a variety of skill sets including forward and backward skating, basic balance, skating, turning, puck control, passing and shooting.
We encourage a parent to come on ice to assist with their child.
Players need to be able to get up and down on their own without assistance and they should be able to shuffle across the ice without assistance prior to registering for this program. Participants should have some experience skating before taking part in this program.
Program Features and Coaches
Our program will be led by Trevor Morgan along with paid coaches. We also welcome parent volunteer coaches who would like to come on the ice to assist their child being that this program is usually their first hockey experience.
The Final Ice Time of the Program includes a Cross Ice Feature Game with Player Introductions, O' Canada, and a light show!!!
The Spring Program will be limited to 50 Participants.
This Program is open to players from any community. You do not have to be a BV Member to Register for this Program.

Hockey Equipment Information
Children must be dressed in full equipment. If you are unsure of fit or how to dress your child, please do not be afraid to ask when you purchase your equipment! It is important that equipment fit properly, be comfortable while doing its job and keep your child safe! Please equip your child with their own personal labelled water bottle with a long spout so that it will go through their helmet cage.
Hockey sticks should be cut off between the player's chin and nose while on skates. Tape should be put on both the butt end and the blade of the stick.
Skates should be sharpened prior to the first ice time. Skates out of the box are not sharp, they need to be sharpened.
