Hero's In Hockey Contest
Each season, many of our teams are spotted out in the community giving back to local charities, volunteering time to our community partners, and doing great things to help others. We want to recognize you & your team doing these amazing things in our first ever #herosinhockey contest. Win an incredible prize pack for your team all while helping others!
It’s Simple! Here’s how:
- Create It: Create a 1-2 minute video of you & your team giving back to a charity, volunteering time, or doing something great for the community. Make sure we can tell it’s one of our Bow Valley Flames hockey teams!!
- Post It: Post your awesome video! Post it to Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook. Hashtag #herosinhockeycontest #bowvalleyhockey. But most importantly post it to Bow Valley Hockey Society Facebook page!
- Share It: Share your Facebook video with everyone you know!
- Like It: Get everyone you know to “like” your Facebook video on the Bow Valley Hockey Society Facebook webpage. The winner will be determined by the most number of “likes” that month!

Contest Rules
- Team represented in the video must be a Bow Valley Hockey Society roster registered for the 2018-2019 hockey season.
- Video must be posted to the Bow Valley Hockey Society Facebook webpage.
- Challenge runs monthly from the first to the last day of the month for each December 2018 and January 2019.
- One winner will be declared for each month (December 2018 and January 2019). The same team cannot win more than one time.
- Video must meet criteria: approx.1-2 minutes in length, represent a BVHS hockey team participating in charity, community involvement, volunteering or helping others in the community. Must be respectful and representative of the BVHS mission and values. Video must clearly indicate which BVHS team(s) is/are represented in the video.
- Winner is determined by the most number of Facebook “likes” on the Bow Valley Hockey Society Facebook.
- “Likes” will be counted on the last day of the contest month for each video posted that month.
- Videos posted on any day of the contest month will be included in the contest for that respective month only. For example, if a video is posted December 15th, that video is included in the contest for the month of December, the “likes” will be counted at the end of December for that video.
- 1 video/team/month only
- Each video can only be posted 1 x/season. A video cannot be reposted for another month of the contest.
- Prize pack for each contest month may vary. More to follow on prizes and sponsors!!
