Long Term Athlete Development Model - Sport For Life

Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) is a new movement being followed by Hockey Canada, and Hockey Alberta, which is meant to improve the quality of sport and physical activity in Canada. By improving athlete training and better integration between all stakeholders in the sport system, including sport organizations, education, recreation and health.  The most significant and important feature of the CS4L is the Long Term Athlete Development model.  This model helps create a pathway for athletes to follow for optimal training, competition, and recovery regimens from childhood through all phases of adulthood.

CS4L has created a variety of documents for all stakeholders in sport including sport governing bodies, participants, parents and educators.
