Proof of residency documents are used to determine your primary residence. You cannot use a rental house address or a PO Box address during the time of registration.
Hockey Alberta determines where a player must register based on their primary residence address. If you do not reside within the boundary, then you cannot register with BVHS unless you have a release from your assigned association and Hockey Calgary.

Besides the registration fees, families are also responsible for “team fees”. Each team will have a Parent Meeting to discuss and confirm a team budget. This budget will cover possible items such as; additional ice for exhibition games, # of tournaments, social activities, etc.
As an example, if the team budget is $2,600 & there are 15 players on the team, each family would be responsible for $173 (“Cash Call”), which would be payable to the team's bank account. Please let your Team Manager know if you require more time to pay the “Cash Call”.
Fundraising is another option as a way to keep expenses lower. This will require TEAM efforts to be successful. There are also AGLC Rules/Regulations that must be followed.
Exception: House League is not permitted to fundraise or participate in tournaments or purchase extra ice.
Every year after teams are formed BVHS hosts a manager meeting that helps managers learn all relevant information needed to manage a hockey team. BVHS also has many forms and processes online so that you can easily access them. Please click here to be directed to the Manager's webpage.
Equipment
Please click here to see the list of equipment required.
All U9 teams are given 2 sets of goalie equipment that the team can use for the season. U11 to U18 goalies must supply their own gear.
General
BVHS has programs for players of all skill levels. Your child will be evaluated at the start of the season and placed on a team according to his/her skill level. For U7 players, it is generally recommended that they can independently stand on their skates.
Players registered in the community league cannot request to be on the same team as a friend as players are evaluated and teams balanced.
Players in House League can request to be with a friend but requests are not guaranteed if numerous friend requests are made.
Unfortunately, the community league can't accommodate this request.
House League players will practice on a set day during the week and have a game on Saturday or Sunday.
Coaching
Yes, the two courses are not the same. The RIS Parent course insures the player with Hockey Canada and the RIS-Activity Leader insures the coach.
Coaches can submit their receipts for reimbursement in December. A form will be sent via email to be filled out by the coach and attach all coaching course receipts for the season.
Please create a Spordle account if you do not already have one. Once you create your account you can view your coaching profile. Please click here to be directed to the Spordle webpage.
Volunteering
BVHS is run almost exclusively by volunteers and each year we need over 10,000 hours to put on a great evaluation experience for all of our players.
Shifts for the upcoming season will become available Aug. 1st
